Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 21 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that he does not envision the state as a leader or controller of the private sector. Rather, he aims for collaborative efforts between the state and the private sector to jointly enhance capabilities and promote long-term progress.

The premier spoke on Wednesday (Feb. 21) at the 2023 annual meeting of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI) at the Ministry.

Samdech Thipadei underlined that the partnership between the state and the private sector entails not only shared thinking but also joint action and accountability.

In addition, the premier added that while the state can facilitate by providing guiding principles, the private sector must collaborate, address concerns with the state, and collectively implement solutions.

"I believe this approach is essential for our long-term competitiveness as our resources are limited, but our potential is immense when we work together," Samdech Thipadei underscored.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet outlined the objective of integrating informal economists into the formal system to bolster business and production capabilities.
