Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 13 – Hungarian Ambassador to Cambodia Tibor Baloghdi affirmed his unwavering commitment to enhancing cooperation with the Cambodian Ministry of Health.

Hungarian ambassador paid a courtesy call on Cambodian Health Minister Chheang Ra at the Ministry of Health on 12 February 2024.

Ambassador Tibor Baloghdi affirmed Hungary's unwavering commitment to bolstering Cambodia's health sector. This commitment encompasses fostering collaboration through the exchange of technical and academic researchers, providing scholarships specifically tailored for General Practitioners and Senior Physicians specializing in cancer treatment and other critical skills. Additionally, Hungary aims to facilitate technology exchange and share its expertise in Information Technology within the health sector.

For his part, Minister Chheang Ra thanked and warmly welcomed the ambassador’s commitment to assisting Cambodia.

Taking this occasion, the health minister also recalled Cambodia-Hungary good cooperation. During the fight against COVID19, Hungary donated 454,700 doses of AstraZeneca and 100,000 doses of Moderna to the Royal Government of Cambodia in 2022.

Minister Chheang Ra expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ambassador Tibor Baloghdi for reiterating Hungary's steadfast support and ongoing contributions to the Cambodian Ministry of Health. The Minister acknowledged Hungary's valuable assistance in advancing the well-being of Cambodian citizens, aligning with the Royal Government's ambitious objective of achieving global health coverage. The minister emphasized the significance of this collaboration within the framework of the Pentagonal Strategic plan, guided by the visionary leadership of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.
