Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 8 – Cambodian Prime Minister stated that in March 2024, Samdech Thipadei will lead a delegation to visit Australia, speaking on Thursday (Feb. 8) at the annual meeting of the Ministry of Labour at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underscored, "I have been attracting investments from many continents, from Asia to Europe to the Americas. I will be in Australia next month to attract investments."

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei explained that attracting investment means that he is spreading the word about Cambodia's potential to foreign investors, hoping that the private sector operating in Cambodia will continue to trust Cambodia and expand its business. At the same time, by showcasing Cambodia's potential, a group of foreign investors are interested in investing in Cambodia.

Samdech Thipadei underlined that the main goal of the Royal Government of Cambodia is to promote economic development and job creation for the people. Key actors include civil servants, NGOs, self-employed individuals, and the private sector, all of whom contribute to creating sustainable jobs that help drive Cambodia's economy sustainably.

"So, to attract the private sector and investment, we need to do more to create more jobs. With Thailand, we have USD 8 billion, and we hope for further growth in the near future. We signed five MoUs yesterday," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet added that since taking office as the Prime Minister from August 2023 until now, he has attracted about 172 projects with an investment capital of USD 3.86 billion, creating job opportunities for 190,000 people. The Royal Government's biggest goal is to promote economic growth and create jobs for the people.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei continued that in January 2024 alone, the Council for the Development of Cambodia approved 32 projects with an investment capital of nearly USD 200 million.
