Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 8 – The Royal Government of Cambodia and Thailand pledged to continue monitoring cases of haze pollution to identify the exact cause. This commitment was made during a meeting between Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, during the official visit on 7 February 2024.

Jean François Tan, Minister Delegate attached to the Prime Minister spoke at a press conference on 7 February 2024 at the Phnom Penh International Airport.

"It was brought up promptly, and both sides vowed to persist in monitoring the situation regarding the haze, as the precise cause remains undetermined," Jean François Tan underscored.

It should be noted that recently, there has been recent concern expressed by some public and media outlets regarding the Cambodian-Thai transboundary haze pollution issue. The Thai side has urged Cambodia to collaborate in preventing such matters.
