Paris (FN), Jan. 18 – French President Emmanuel Macron commended Cambodia for its deployment of peacekeeping forces with the United Nations, considering it a significant contribution to Asia, speaking at a joint press conference with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet at the Élysée Palace, Paris, on Thursday (Jan. 18).

"I am here to commend Cambodia's peacekeeping forces for their contribution to the United Nations, a significant contribution to Asia," Emmanuel Macron underlined.

It should be noted that Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the former Prime Minister of Cambodia, decided to deploy peacekeeping forces to participate in the UN peacekeeping missions in 2006. From 2006 to the present, Cambodia has contributed 9,205 peacekeepers, 726 are female, to 12 missions in 10 countries.
