Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 9 – Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Chairman of the Supreme Privy Council of the King and President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) expressed his gratitude to the Japanese Government and doctors for producing five additional artificial lenses for him to use in the next 10 years.

Samdech Techo wrote on his social media on Tuesday (Jan. 9) during his trip to Japan for eyes checkup.

"For 34 years, I have never had a headache. Before I used the Japanese one, I had a constant headache that I needed a painkiller. Fortunately, when I went to Japan, I was given a set of lenses. I do not have a headache anymore".

Samdech Techo continued, "This is the result of a country that experienced war. I led the search for peace and strived to maintain it. Thank you to the Japanese government and Japanese doctors for taking care of my eyes for the past 34 years".

It should be noted that Samdech Techo lost his left sight on 16 April 1975, just one day before the Khmer Rouge successfully invaded Phnom Penh.
