Koh Kong (FN), Jan. 8 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet mentioned that peace policy is a compulsory policy to end conflict, fostering national unity, and catalysing the development of Koh Kong province.

The premier presided over the inauguration of “Samdech Techo Hun Sen Koh Yor Bridge” and met with about 11,000 workers in Koh Kong province on Monday (Jan. 8).

Samdech Thipadei continued that all the activities and policies that have introduced are to improve people’s livelihoods. In the past, Koh Kong province was very far away because there was inadequate infrastructure.

"Our citizens are aware that our presence here is not incidental. This location, once a war zone and divided areas, has transformed into a hub of development. These accomplishments are the result of unwavering efforts and a clear policy,” the premier underscored.

"Without peace, how could we achieve territorial unity and connect Koh Kong? I inaugurated the hydropower dam at Thmor Bang, once a hideout in the fight against Lon Nol and Khmer Rouge," the premier continued.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei highlighted that the remarkable development of Koh Kong province is inseparable from the peace established through the astute Win-win policy of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, which brought an end to the war.
