Koh Kong (FN), Jan. 8 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said that Peace Day in Cambodia, which falls on 29 December, is a celebration for all citizens who advocate against war and embrace peace.

The premier presided over the inauguration of “Samdech Techo Hun Sen Koh Yor Bridge” and met with about 11,000 workers in Koh Kong province on Monday (Jan. 8).

Samdech Thipadei pointed out that the wise Win-win policy of Samdech Techo Hun Sen ended the war.

"Some ill-intended individuals criticized that the 29 December Peace Day is exclusively for the Hun family. I do not deny this [criticism]. The Hun Family also advocates for peace. Thus, Peace Day is dedicated to all Cambodian citizens who embrace peace and oppose war," the premier underscored.

On 1 January 2024, the Royal Government issued a sub-decree which designates 29 December each year as "Peace Day in Cambodia," an official national and public holiday in the kingdom.
