Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet advised the Ministry of Commerce to boost domestic production and formulate marketing strategies to promote the use of domestic products.

The premier spoke on Friday (Dec. 22) at the closing of annual meeting of the Ministry of Commerce.

Taking this occasion, Samdech Thipadei instructed the Ministry of Commerce to increase the efficiency of the connection between producers and customers-consumers to reduce imports and contribute to promoting local products. For example, Samdech Thipadei also revealed the policy of buying homegrown furniture for use in offices.

Samdech Thipadei further instructed the Ministry of Commerce to set up an effective and interconnected marketing system, including the establishment of a comprehensive digital platform between sellers and buyers.

In addition, the Ministry of Commerce is tasked with securing the trust of both domestic and international customers in Cambodian products. This entails strict adherence to legal frameworks, ethical standards, and market economy principles. Cambodian products must consistently meet and uphold high-quality standards.
