Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 1 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet supported the continuation of joint military exercises between Cambodia and Thailand at all levels and all types to strengthen ties and cooperation.

The premier received a courtesy call from Thai Minister of Defence Sutin Klungsang on Friday afternoon (Dec. 1) at the Peace Palace.

Sutin Klungsang conveyed a warm greeting from the Thai Prime Minister to Samdech Thipadei, expressing a close spirit and emphasizing good cooperation in all sectors, especially in defence. He also reaffirmed support for further defence cooperation by continuing to offer scholarships to Cambodian military trainees.

For his part, Premier Hun Manet warmly welcomed the Thai Minister of Defence and the delegation during their official visit to Cambodia. The premier thanked the Thai counterpart for continuing to support the training of Cambodian human resources in regional armies and training centers.

In addition, the premier also supported the continuation of joint military exercises at all levels and types, reaffirming his support for the mutual cooperation between the two Ministries of Defence.

Lastly, Samdech Thipadei highlighted the ongoing close cooperation along the Cambodian-Thai border in the management of natural disasters and the prevention of cross-border crimes to ensure a peaceful border area for the two peoples.
