Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 21 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet warned restaurants and entertainment venues not to use loudspeakers late at night as it disturbs the neighbors, otherwise, they have their business license revoked.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Nov. 21) during his 10th meeting with workers, held in Por Senchey district, Phnom Penh.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underscored that, "last night, I instructed the authorities in Toul Kork district to inspect a restaurant, where there was loud noise late at night, disturbing the neighbors. I urged them to be flexible and considerate. If not, we will revoke the license.”

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet added that as a community, everyone should coexist peacefully. While it's fine to run good business, the premier suggest to lower the loundspeakers after 10 p.m. On important event days, occasional evening festivities are acceptable, but at night, consideration should be given to neighbors who may be elderly, unwell, or have infants. Authorities need to monitor nightclubs as there are often disturbances.
