Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 17 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on the heads of both Buddhist denominations and other religious leaders in the kingdom to work closely with the Ministry of Cult and Religion to jointly promote religious harmony and morality.

The premier spoke on Friday (Nov. 17) during a Preah Sokunveary Ceremony to Supreme Patriarch, held at Champus Kaek pagoda in Phnom Penh.

Samdech Thipadei continued, the Ministry of Cults and Religions must continue to push for the enactment of the Law on Religion as soon as possible to serve as a basis for operations in the field of religion and to supplement the legal documents to actively promote religious harmony and morality.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also asked the supreme patriarch to further promote Dharma, virtue, morality, ethics, preservation of culture, civilization, traditions and customs, and national values.

The Royal Government of Cambodia promotes freedom of religion and belief as well as the harmony of religious harmony and peace, which is an important and indispensable factor for all national development and economic and social prosperity of Cambodia.
