Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 17 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on Cambodians nationwide to enjoy and celebrate the upcoming Water Festival.

The premier spoke on Friday (Nov. 17) during a Preah Sokunveary Ceremony to Supreme Patriarch, held at Champus Kaek pagoda in Phnom Penh.

"I would like to invite all Buddhists and all compatriots throughout the country to enthusiastically partake in the upcoming Water Festival celebrations,” Samdech Thipadei underlined.

After facing disruptions in recent years due to the challenges posed by COVID19 and the hosting of the ASEAN Summit, Cambodia is set to celebrate the Water Festival in the upcoming days.

It should be noted that the Water Festival will take place on 26-28 November 2023.

The Department of Public Works and Transport of Phnom Penh Capital has been actively engaged in enhancing the city's aesthetics, focusing on decorating and facilitating water sports facilities, and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of toilets.

Recently, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also instructed the Phnom Penh City Taskforce Unit to tighten security and safety measures and public order, and to prevent potential social unrest, especially during the Water Festival celebration.
