Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 14 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced that more than nine million people has benefited from the expansion of the Health Equity Fund and the National Social Security Fund.

The premier made the announcement at the launch of the "Voluntary Social Security Program" and "Technical and Vocational Education and Training" for poor and vulnerable households, held on Tuesday morning (Nov. 14) at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

"The implementation of the voluntary basis of the National Social Security Fund in health care scheme will support five million people, in addition to four million people who has benefited from the Health Equity Fund since its implementation on 24 October. Therefore, the two programs will benefit more than nine million citizens, advancing the goal of global health coverage," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei also highlighted the Royal Government's efforts to ensure access to healthcare for all workers.
