Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 13 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet agreed to establish a Digital Society, Economy, and Telecommunications Working Group (DSETWG) which brings together a total of 15 sectoral working groups under the Government-Private Sector Forum mechanism.

The premier spoke at the 19th Government-Private Sector Forum (G-PSF), held on Monday (Nov. 13) at the Peace Palace.

"The DSETWG will be accorded special priority in addressing concerns, resolving issues, and advancing the development of this crucial sector. The sectoral working group within the G-PSF will have a total of 15 groups”, Samdech Thipadei underlined.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also instructed the existing 15 sectoral working groups to collaborate closely with the private sector, holding regular meetings to proactively address sector-specific challenges.

Regarding the Digital Society, Economy, and Telecommunications Working Group, the premier urged swift preparation of its composition to commence meetings aimed at listening to and addressing challenges faced by the private sector.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei called on the 15 working groups to efficiently carry out their responsibilities, with the Economic and Financial Policy Committee (EFPC) playing a coordinating role in finding solutions to cross-institutional and cross-sectoral issues.

In addition, aligning with the 18th G-PSF decision, Samdech Thipadei proposed holding the G-PSF at least twice during each government mandate, once at the beginning and once midway.
