Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 13 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet eyed freight weight increase from 40 to 45 tons, speaking at the 19th Government-Private Sector Forum (G-PSF), held on Monday (Nov. 13) at the Peace Palace.

"I agree with the proposal on the freight weight increase to 45 tons to reduce transportation costs at the request of the private sector," the premier underscored.

To expedite implementation, Samdech Thipadei has tasked the Ministry of Public Works and Transport with amending laws, conducting a technical study, and specifying suitable vehicles and roads for the approved freight weight increase.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei emphasized not only encouraging the weight increase and reducing transportation costs, but also urged to consider the infrastructure.
