p>Sihanoukville (FN), Nov. 7 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet stated that the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction is speeding up the distribution of land titles to the people.

The ministry has been working on more than seven million land plots, of which two million titles have been distributed, while the remaining five million to be distributed as soon as possible.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Nov. 7) during his meeting with more than 15,000 workers in Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province.

Samdech Thipadei underscored that originally, most people did not have land rights as they were only granted permission to use and enjoy the land’s benefit. In this sense, the Royal Government has made significant effort, especially in 2011 when Samdech Techo Hun Sen introduced a land survey policy.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei continued that minister of Land Management Say Sam Al has set out strategic principles and that Samdech Thipadei fully supported.

Premier Hun Manet instructed the use of all forces at both the central and capital-provincial levels to distribute land titles promptly, to allow people to use them without further delay.
