Kandal (FN), Nov. 2 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet announced that in the government-private sector forum on 13 November 2023, the Royal Government will set out a new policy to support the construction and real estate sector in the kingdom at the request of the Real Estate Association.

The premier spoke on Thursday morning (Nov. 2) during his meeting with nearly 20,000 workers in Kandal province.

"A moment ago, I discussed with the minister of Land Management Say Sam Al about the request of the Real Estate Association. On 13 November, I will announce [new policy]. In fact, there is an existing policy, but not many citizens know. Therefore, we need to disseminate it widely for everyone's benefit," the premier underscored.

On 23 October 2023, there was a meeting to discuss the situation of the construction sector in Cambodia, held at the Ministry of Land Management under the chairmanship of minister Say Sam Al. The meeting touched on the challenges of the construction sector in the kingdom, seeking financial support, and discussed the legal aspects of allowing foreigners to have the legal right to purchase houses and land in the Borey project.

During the meeting, minister Say Sam Al said that the Ministry has prepared the proposals and policies to submit to the Royal Government to support the construction sector.
