Kampong Cham (FN), Oct. 25 – Samdech Techo Hun Sen, president of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), affirmed that 27 political parties have signed an agreement on cooperation and alliance with the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) to become equal partners that have equal rights.

Samdech Techo spoke during the signing ceremony of the alliance agreement between the CPP and 27 other political parties on Wednesday (Oct. 25) at the CPP's headquarters.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen also said that although the CPP is the ruling party with plenty of human and financial resources, the CPP has never underestimated other parties as long as they are legitimate.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen unlined, "In this alliance, I would like to make it clear that all parties are not under the control of any party, meaning you are all equal partners. All parties are not under the CPP, but we are willing to cooperate with each other. Although the ruling CPP has a lot of human and financial resources compared to other parties, we has never underestimated other parties. Legitimate political party has equal rights.”

The CPP president stressed that all political parties allied with the CPP remain autonomous and have sufficient rights to set political directions in line with the principles set out in the eight-point alliance agreement.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen believed that those political parties will be attacked by the opposition as CPP’s puppet once the signing is done. He regarded the baseless accusation is a statement that lacks respect for the freedom of individuals or the freedom of political parties.
