Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 24 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet called on the private sector in the health sector, medicines, health supplements, and food merchants and so one to join the Royal Government of Cambodia in improving the products quality for better public welfare.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Oct. 24) during an inauguration ceremony of Techo Santepheap National Hospital, Phnom Penh.

"Medicine and food safety is significant as it is everyone’s daily consumption. Safety comes first. People will find reliable markets to buy their food, and pharmacies to buy their medicines. Therefore, the private sector and the government should join hands,” the premier underlined.

Samdech Thipadei encouraged the Ministry of Health to establish a synergy with the private sector, whether individuals, private hospitals, doctors, pharmacists and other groups, so that they can participate in improving the products and food quality to increase the effectiveness of public health care.

On the occasion, Samdech Hun Manet stated that the Royal Government and relevant ministries must do their best to reach out to partners and increase the responsibility of the private sector, associations, committees or self-employed individuals to participate in improving the consumers’ well-being, and business owners to sell their products legally.
