Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 24 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet announced the program to expand the Health Equity Fund to 490,000 vulnerable households, equivalent to 1.8 million people.

The premier spoke on Tuesday morning (Oct. 24) during an inauguration ceremony of Techo Santepheap National Hospital, Phnom Penh.

“The program to expand the scope of the Health Equity Fund to vulnerable households is the first program [of the seventh-mandate Royal Government’s priority policies] aimed to provide health care benefits to 7.4 million citizens,” the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei underlined that this program brings many benefits to citizens, including free access to health care services, such as outpatient, contraception, hospitalization, emergency, minor surgery, major surgery, and childbirth services.

Taking this occasion, Samdech Thipadei expressed his confidence in helping the Cambodian citizens, and urged them to have faith in the Royal Government.
