Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 11 – Cambodian minister of Tourism Sok Soken asked ambassador of the United States (US) to Cambodia Patrick Murphy to help promote Cambodian tourism destinations to lure tourists and investors.

Patrick Murphy paid a courtesy call on minister Sok Soken on 10 October 2023 at the Ministry of Tourism.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance the partnership between Cambodia and the US, particularly in stimulating the flow of tourists and exploring opportunities to strengthen tourism cooperation.

Minister Soken pointed out that US tourists are Cambodia's main target, listed among the top 10 tourists before and after COVID19.

Taking this occasion, Sok Soken requested the US ambassador to help promote Cambodian tourism destinations and encourage more US tourists to visit Cambodia, and investors who are interested in Cambodia's market.

For his part, Patrick Murphy promised to help promote tourism destinations to attract tourists and investors to Cambodia. The ambassador hoped to see more Cambodian tourists visit the US and continue to facilitate travel between the two countries.

Lastly, both sides pledged to further strengthen tourism cooperation by promoting cultural and economic exchanges, building stronger people-to-people ties, and enhancing mutual trust and mutual benefit between the two nations.
