Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 10 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet stated that the safety of Cambodian students and citizens in Israel is the Royal Government's top priority.

So far, all Cambodian students and citizens in Israel are safe under the coordination of the Royal Government of Cambodia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture and other relevant authorities.

The premier spoke during the launching of the National Strategy on Informal Economic Development 2023-2028, held on Tuesday (Oct. 10) at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

"The safety of our people in Israel, especially our students, is the top priority of the Royal Government," Samdech Thipadei underscored.

Samdech Thipadei stated that the Royal Government has worked hard day and night to cooperate with the Israeli authorities to ensure that the Cambodian students and citizens in Israel are highly protected and safe.

On the occasion, the premier underlined that since the battle between Israeli and Hamas forces, he has set the policy for the relevant Cambodian institutions to determine the specific number of the Cambodian citizens living in Israel and collect their information for timely rescue interventions.

The Royal Government of Cambodia urged all Cambodians in Israel to adhere to the guidelines of the host country to ensure their safety and to remain calm as the Royal Government is monitoring and working closely with the Israeli Government.

According to the authorities, 454 Cambodian citizens are staying in Israel, of which 323 people were evacuated to a safe zone. The Cambodian authorities will continue to work closely with the Israeli authorities to evacuate the rest to a safe zone.
