Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 8 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided additional updates on the evolving situation of Cambodian students and citizens in Israel on Sunday morning (Oct. 8) as follows:

1. There are about 450 Cambodian citizens, most of whom are living and studying in Israel. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to express deepest condolences and extend deepest sympathy to the bereaved family for the loss of one Cambodian student in the clashes between Israeli and Hamas forces.

2. Through the direct and attentive intervention of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, three Cambodian students were liberated from the battle zone and arrived at a safe location in Tel Aviv-Yafo. The safety of the Cambodian people is a top priority of the Royal Government.

3. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cambodian ambassador to Turkey and Egypt have been in close contacts with Cambodian students and citizens there, and continue to have close contacts with the Israeli authorities to propose cooperation to ensure the safety and security of all Cambodian students and citizens.

4. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and continues to call on Cambodian students and citizens living in Israel to respect and strictly follow the Israeli authorities' instructions for their own safety and security.

5. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation condemns all forms of violence and acts of terrorism.
