Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 6 – Cambodian National Police commissioner general Sar Thet met with international liaison officer of the British National Crime Agency (NCA) in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Brunei Peter Vernon, and deputy head of mission of the British Embassy in Cambodia Marc Thayre, and delegations to discuss work at the Ministry of Interior on 5 October 2023.

To begin with, Peter Vernon congratulated Sar Thet on his appointment as Cambodian National Police commissioner general and requested to continue to strengthen the cooperation between the British National Crime Agency (NCA) and Cambodian National Police through the existing mechanism.

In addition, Marc Thayre also mentioned the provision of training to the Cambodian National Police as well as technology and the fight against online child sexual exploitation and abuse, and thanked the Cambodian National Police for assisting British people living in Cambodia during critical moment.

In response, commissioner general Sar Thet supported and welcomed stronger cooperation to prevent and suppress all kinds of crimes, especially transnational crime, with the British National Crime Agency (NCA) for the purpose of maintaining security for the citizens of both countries as well as in the region.
