Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 25 – Pfizer's global president of emerging markets Nick Lagunowich intended to seek investment opportunities in Cambodia and assistance from the Royal Government.

Nick Lagunowich paid a courtesy call on Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet on 23 September 2023 in New York.

Nick briefed Samdech Thipadei on Pfizer's intention to seek more opportunities in Cambodia through support and assistance from the Royal Government. He added that Pfizer has carefully reviewed and monitored the Pentagonal Strategy - Phase 1 of the seventh-mandate Royal Government and learnt that Pfizer can work with the Royal Government, in particular to improve Cambodia’s public health system.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei welcomed and highly appreciated Pfizer's initiative on the Accord for a Healthier World, which aims to provide the full range of drugs and vaccines on the basis of non-profit to the people living in the lowest-income countries in the world.

Samdech Thipadei also highlighted that the intention of the Pfizer is in line with the policies set the Royal Government, which is to improve the quality of health services by strengthening the capacity of primary health care providers. He added that in order to achieve the task, we must pay attention to medical supply, medical equipment, and healthcare facility equipment in referral hospitals nationwide.

Taking this occasion, Samdech Thipadei mentioned that the Royal Government also pays attention to building a strong public-private sector partnership so that citizens can receive quality, safe and effective healthcare services. In this regard, Samdech Thipadei encouraged Pfizer to continue to seek investment and business opportunities in Cambodia and promote relations with stakeholders, especially the kingdom’s Ministry of Health.

Lastly, Nich thanked and informed Samdech Thipadei that Pfizer will continue to work with stakeholders in Cambodia.
