Beijing (FN), Sep. 15 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet has announced his support for investment in infrastructure projects, especially highways, by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).

The premier spoke during a courtesy call by chairman of the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) Wang Tongzhou on 14 September 2023 in Beijing, China.

Samdech Thipadei instructed the relevant authorities to continue to cooperate with the company to achieve projects both under study and under construction.

During the meeting, prime minister Hun Manet extended a warm welcome to Wang Tongzhou and the delegation of CRBC. He also congratulated CRBC on its achievements in the past and praised the study and exploration of other potential areas in Cambodia.

Wang Tongzhou congratulated Samdech Thipadei on his recent appointment to lead the Royal Government for the 7th legislature, and expressed his deep gratitude for allowing him and the company delegation to pay him a courtesy call.

Wang also briefed premier Manet on the ongoing road investment projects in Cambodia, as well as new projects that the company is studying and evaluating, as well as requesting further cooperation and coordination from the Royal Government of Cambodia.

On that occasion, Samdech Thipadei highlighted the important role of investment projects in roads, bridges and expressways in the process of socio-economic development, especially in enhancing Cambodia's competitiveness through the improvement of logistics systems. For the project that is being studied and evaluated, Samdech requested the company to expedite these matters by continuing to cooperate with relevant Cambodian ministries, institutions or stakeholders.

Prime minister Hun Manet also instructed the relevant ministries and institutions to further cooperate and coordinate, so that the projects under study can be completed and implemented as soon as possible.

At the same time, premier Manet also praised CRBC for its contribution to the development process in Cambodia through the achievement of road investment projects, especially the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway. He underlined that the Royal Government of Cambodia is ready to cooperate and coordinate further with the company and encourage CRBC to continue to invest more in Cambodia.
