Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 3 –  Samdech Hun Sen, president of the Supreme Privy Council of the King, announced to resume the use of Facebook after Meta rejected the proposal to suspend his account.

“Dear compatriots, I decided to use Facebook again, combined with Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Telegram and Instagram after Facebook rejected the recommendations of the corrupt group and gave justice to me. I hope that Facebook will adhere to the code of ethics, not blind, like a group of corrupt people who are not welcome in Cambodia,” Samdech wrote on Facebook on Sunday (Sep. 3).

Samdech also hoped that Facebook will earn more than USD 200 million per year in Cambodia, while the Royal Government will receive 10 percent of that amount in tax revenue.

“The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued a statement accepting Facebook representatives to return to work in Cambodia, but did not welcome corrupt people who made incorrect recommendations. Only Hun Sen has the right to decide whether or not to use Facebook. From now on, you can find me on every social media platform, but I am more active on TikTok and Telegram,” he added.

Samdech also appealed to those who use his name to create fake Facebook and TikTok accounts to delete them immediately.
