Phnom Penh (FN), Jun 7 – Speaking on Wednesday morning (Jun 7) at the groundbreaking ceremony for Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway, Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen reaffirmed that China's Belt and Road Initiative had not hindered the development of any country. On the contrary, it provides greater benefits to the countries involved.

"Cambodia has no hesitation in supporting the development of the Belt and Road Initiative. This initiative has not hindered the development of any country. In contrast, it provides greater benefits for us. I vividly remember the China's Belt and Road Initiative Meeting in 2013 that Chinese president Xi Jinping proposed a budget of USD30 billion for the initiative," the premier underscored.

Samdech added that China's Belt and Road Initiative has up to 153 countries involved. It has offered enormous benefits to Cambodia through grants and loans for infrastructure construction and major development projects.
