Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 5 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen called on social media users to stop debating on the song entitled "The Death of Jayavarman VII" because singer Meas Soksophea already apologized and deleted the song.

The premier spoke on Monday (June 5) during a graduation ceremony for students of the Royal University Of Law And Economics.

The premier’s appeal came after some users wanted legal action taken against singer Meas Soksophea.

"I call on social media users to stop immediately and do not continue to debate on the song "The Death of Jayavarman VII” because otherwise, it worsen the situation. I came across a Facebook post by Meas Soksophea, who linked to a post by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts with comments that legal action should be taken,” the premier underlined.

“She (singer) already apologized and deleted the song. We do need to add fuel to the fire,” the premier added

At the same time, Samdech appealed people to stop distributing the song. He also thanked singer Meas Soksophea for her apology.
