Phnom Penh (FN), May 26 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that Cambodia spent less budget in the hosting of the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games than other hosting countries, but achieved desirable results.

The premier spoke during a meeting with Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) athletes ahead of the 12th ASEAN Para Games, held on Friday afternoon (May 26) at the Peace Palace.

"Our expenditures were less than other countries, but we have exceeded the expectations. Hard and soft infrastructures have been greatly strengthened, and the base for the event was not only built for the 2023 SEA Games. I think what we have prepared plus the past achievements will remain as legacies for the next generations in the long run,” the premier underscored.

Samdech explained that the hard infrastructures were well prepared and will remain the basis for future sport events. For our soft infrastructures, we received more than expected.

Cambodia has spent over USD 110 million to organize the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 and additional USD 30-40 million for the 12th ASEAN Para Games.
