Phnom Penh (FN), May 26 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that nowadays, the kingdom has 1,326 factories with more than 840,000 labor forces nationwide, speaking on Friday morning (May 26) during his meeting with some 20,000 workers at the Royal Group Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone.

The premier recalled that in 1997, Cambodia only had 64 factories with about 80,000 labor forces. Back then, the workers were paid only USD 40 per month, while the current minimum wage is at least USD 200.
