Phnom Penh (FN), May 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen briefed the kingdom’s current achievements and the past achievements that the Royal Government has strived to build, speaking on Tuesday morning (May 23) at an inauguration of the Calmette’s “Techo Aphivadh” Building.

Unlike the presidents or prime ministers of other countries, who already have existing socioeconomic achievements when they took office, Cambodian prime minister has built the country from scratch, the premier underlined.

"When your president and your prime minister took office, they already had the existing socioeconomic achievements, and all they need was to set out the policy and implement it. Unlike them, we built the nation from scratch. We fought against the Khmer Rouge. We were weak and under sanctions. However, we tried to survive. Those actions reflected our characteristics," the premier underscored.

In this regard, Samdech asked foreign friends to help or increase support for development of Cambodia and nation building, and not to destroy the kingdom’s peace and political stability.
