Sihanoukville (FN), May 22 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said Chinese president Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative has brought great benefits to member countries, particularly among ASEAN members, without threatening any country.

The premier spoke at an inauguration for the official use of the tire factory, held on Monday morning (May 22) in Sihanoukville province.

"If we look at China's policy, no declaration of enmity has been made with any country. Even though others have found ways to prevent or oppose China, China has never set out a policy of blocking or hostile to the country. Therefore, the Belt and Road Initiative is growing," the premier underscored.

In fact, the ASEAN-China agreement offers enormous benefits for ASEAN countries.

Samdech continued, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) has come into force, which is part of the cooperation between the 10 ASEAN countries with China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.

The establishment of the Asian Investment Bank is also a Chinese initiative, of which Cambodia is a co-founder. The cooperation is also part of the Belt and Road Initiative and Global Development Initiative of China.
