Phnom Penh (FN), May 5 – Lao president Thongloun Sisoulith and high-level delegation departed from Cambodia after concluding the state visit to the kingdom from 4 to 6 May 2023 at the invitation of Cambodian king Norodom Sihamoni.

The president arrived Cambodia on 4 May 2023 and attended the Opening Ceremony of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games on Friday (May 5) at the Morodok Techo National Stadium.

The president also paid a royal audience to the king and received courtesy calls by Senate president Say Chhum and National Assembly president Heng Samrin.

During his stay, president Thongloun Sisoulith and prime minister Hun Sen held a bilateral meeting to touch base on the further deepening of the bilateral cooperation along with some regional and international issues of common concerns.

President Thongloun Sisoulith laid wreathes at the Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial Statue of the late king father Norodom Sihanouk.

The state visit of Lao president further consolidated the existing excellent relations, good neighborliness, fraternal tie, and the Comprehensive and Long-Lasting Strategic Partnership for the mutual benefits of the two peoples.
