Phnom Penh (FN), May 1 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen hoped that next host countries of the SEA Games will waive fees for Cambodian delegates.

The premier spoke during the meeting with Cambodian athletes ahead of the 32nd SEA Games’ Opening Ceremony, held on Monday afternoon (May 1) at the Peace Palace.

“It is not a requirement because what Cambodia offers to all sports delegates who come to participate in the SEA Games in Cambodia is the spirit of the Kingdom, a small country with a big heart,” the premier underlined.

The premier added, “I believe that the sport will be able to influence the idea of hosting, at least among ASEAN countries.”

On that occasion, Samdech added that Cambodia has spent about USD 7 million on food preparation for all sports delegates.

Samdech continued, if Cambodia is rich, Cambodia will provide more aid and share to other countries. During COVID19 outbreak in the past, Cambodia brought assistance to several countries, including Nepal, Timor-Leste, Viet Nam, Laos, Myanmar and Cuba.
