Siem Reap (FN), Apr. 26 – First president of the Cambodian Mine Action Authority (CMAA) Ly Thuch presided over the first-ever workshop of its kind in the ASEAN region on Powerful Solutions for UXO and Mine Detection on 26-27 April 2023 in Siem Reap province, which is organized by the CMAA and Vallon GmbH, a leading provider of mine detection technologies.

The workshop aimed to explore the latest developments in mine detection technologies developed by Vallon and to discuss strategies for accelerating progress towards a Cambodia Mine-free by 2025.

The workshop brought together experts and stakeholders from the mine action community, including mine action operators, NGOs, government agencies, and international organizations. The participants had the opportunity to witness firsthand demonstrations of Vallon's latest detection technologies and to engage in lively discussions on best practices, challenges, and opportunities for improving mine action operations in Cambodia.

"This workshop was a landmark event for the mine action community in Cambodia and the ASEAN region. We are grateful to Vallon for their support and expertise, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration towards achieving a Cambodia Mine-free by 2025," Ly Thuch underscored.
