Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 12 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen instructed the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to further promote digital education responsive to the social and economic transformation.

The premier spoke at the closing of the Conference on Education, Youth and Sport, held on Wednesday (Apr 12) at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia, Phnom Penh.

Premier Hun Sen stated, "We must continue to promote digital education for the training of human resources in the context of social transformation and digital economy by continuing to integrate digital technology into the curriculum at all levels of the education system, equip digital laboratories, connect to power grid and network within institutions, enhance the digital qualifications and capabilities of teachers, integrate the use of technology into teaching and learning, improve digital content, establish digital education centers, and disseminate digital platforms more widely and comprehensively."

On that occasion, the premier also instructed the Ministry of Education to be more active in scouting and youth development so that children and youth have a sense of responsibility, confidence, adhere to positive social behavior, morality and be a good citizen.

In addition, Samdech also encouraged the Ministry of Education to continue the launch of youth volunteer program to help the community, as well as continue to train technical skills and soft skills for young people to respond to job opportunities and social development.
