Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 27 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen asked Malaysia to increase purchase of rice and cashew nuts as well as other agricultural products from Cambodia.

The premier spoke during a joint press conference with Malaysian prime minister Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim on the outcomes of the bilateral meeting, on Monday (Mar. 27) at the Peace Palace.

"I also urge Malaysia to increase its purchases of rice and agricultural products from Cambodia through direct sea transport from Sihanoukville port to Penang and Pahang ports,” the premier underlined.

On that occasion, premier Hun Sen also asked the Malaysian side to encourage more Malaysian investors to do business in Cambodia.

Cambodia, Malaysia bilateral trade reached USD 620 million in 2022, up 24 per cent compared to 2021.
