Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 26 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen announced that the Royal Government has launched three priority technology roadmaps in the field of agriculture, education and health sector, and the kingdom is preparing to launch an additional three.

The premier spoke at the opening of the 1st National Day of Science, Technology and Innovation 2023, held on Sunday (Mar. 26) at Diamond Island.

According to the premier, the three additional roadmaps are energy, tourism and digital technology roadmaps.

"These three new priority technology roadmaps will serve as a compass for relevant ministries and institutions, private enterprises, development partners and the Cambodian people to plan in a consistent manner, develop a comprehensive strategy, get the right technology and develop technology products to suit the real demand of Cambodia,” the premier underlined.

On that occasion, Samdech noted that in recent years, the ecosystem for business ventures in the field of technology in Cambodia has progressed, including local seed investors, private equity funds, investment funds, business support centers as well as co-working spaces.

At the same time, a number of higher education institutions have been actively involved in the development of the national innovation system by establishing specialized training programs for majors related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics; and establishing direct liaison offices with enterprises and launching business support centers.
