Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 16 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen called on citizens not to panic about the collapses of two US commercial banks, for they will not affect Cambodia's banking sector, speaking on Thursday morning (Mar 16) at the graduation of Build Bright University students.

The premier called on people to trust the ability of the Royal Government to manage the financial and banking sector.

Samdech expressed confidence that the US will have an effective solution to the banking crisis, as the US already has abundant experiences from solving banking crisis.

On 12 March 2023, US state regulators shut down New York-based Signature Bank. The closure comes two days after authorities shut down Silicon Valley Bank after many customers rushed to withdraw deposits.
