Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 15 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen shared four views that contribute to promoting the Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in community-based inclusive development and socio-economic development as much as possible.

The premier spoke at the opening ceremony of the 5th Asia-Pacific Community-based Inclusive Development Congress, held on Wednesday (Mar 15) at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

The four views are as follows:

First, all development activities, including socioeconomics, political and cultural activities, shall encourage and promote the maximum participation of PWDs at the community level in order to achieve inclusive development in both aspects and role development.

Second, further enhance cooperation between the people, government, developing partners, and civil society to share experiences, and exchange information technology and practical excellence, particularly the good ideas of this three-day discussion as input to the deepening of disability development plans at the community level.

Third, further enhance cooperation in organizing special training skills and using appropriate techniques for the education of PWDs to improve the ability and opportunities to work with high salaries, as well as make PWDs have equal opportunities and rights in the labor market in the private and public sectors.

Fourth, further strengthen and expand community development with an inclusive, effective, and comprehensive environment and called on participation in the spirit of life of the one-person system in the Jakarta Declaration on the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities, 2023-2032 for the benefit of PWDs nationally, regionally and globally.
