Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 7 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen stated that incorporating soft skills in the curriculum, especially professional ethics in the field of health, is necessary and urgent, and encouraged the Ministry to mobilize health professionals to teach in higher education institutions.

The premier spoke at a closing annual meeting of Ministry of Health on Tuesday (Mar 7) at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

At the same time, the premier added that the Ministry of Health must review and organize the development and proper implementation of clinical governance mechanisms at both public and private health facilities to ensure that the health care services provided are in compliance with the standards.

Samdech also instructed the Ministry of Health to maximize the health service delivery mechanism, as well as strengthen training in the health sector, both hard and soft skills, by regularly updating the curriculum to promote professional ethics.

On that occasion, the Ministry of Health must establish a mechanism to encourage professors in the field of health to conduct regular research to sharpen both theoretical and practical knowledge to improve the efficiency of health services.
