Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 7 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen revealed that a research study found that the rate of women supporting and voting for Samdech is higher than men, and that the premier would like to thank them for their support.

The premier spoke when he presided over the celebration of the 112th Anniversary of International Women's Day on Tuesday (Mar 7) at the Peace Palace.

Samdech added that this research is often conducted by foreign experts in different areas of the country.

The premier added that this overwhelming support is not because of his good-looking, but might be because women can benefit a lot from peace and development under Samdech's leadership.

On that occasion, Samdech also underlined that women suffered the most during wars. Even though women did not directly participate in the battle, they gave up their husbands, children and siblings to serve in the army.

“Women benefited greatly when the country is peaceful.”
