Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 27 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen mentioned that the Royal Government aimed to transform the kingdom to become the number one exporter of processed cashew nuts in the world.

Currently, Cambodia exports unprocessed cashew nuts for more than one million tons annually.

The premier spoke at the graduation of more than 5,000 students of National Technical Training Institute, held on Monday (Feb. 27) at OCIC, Phnom Pen

"In the future, the kingdom aims to become the number one exporter of processed cashew nuts in the world. Annually, the kingdom exported over one million tons of unprocessed cashew nuts. However, we produce less processed cashews compared to other countries," the premier underscored.

The premier urged to increase the number of local technicians and attract more investors in this field.

Viet Nam and India are the main exporters of cashew nuts to the world, but Vietnam is importing unprocessed cashew nuts from some African countries.
