Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 17 – Press attaché Rafael Iangareev congratulated the Cambodian team, which ranked third in Russia's third Phygital e-game, and affirmed that this victory reflects good progress of the relations between the two countries.

Rafael Iangareev spoke in a press briefing on the foreign policy of the Russian Federation, held on Friday morning (Feb 17) at the Russian Embassy in Cambodia.

“The third edition of an electronic sport called Phygital Games took place in Kazan, Russia from 5-11 February 2023. A team from Cambodia also participated in this competition,” said Rafael.

Rafael Iangareev added, "we are pleased that our Cambodian friends can visit Kazan and Russia in the winter. Congratulations to them on being third place. We are ready to expand further cooperation in sports and the development of youth relations between the two countries."

In addition, Rafael Iangareev said Cambodia’s victory in the games reflected the good relations between the two countries in the field of sports and youth exchanges.

The press attaché continued, in terms of Cambodia-Russia relations, the two countries have a long history of providing humanitarian assistance and Russia has supported the new government of Cambodia after the liberation of the Pol Pot genocidal regime. Russia is aware of Cambodia's position on the situation in Ukraine, and that we have repeatedly explained to our partners the origins of the conflict, as well as the reasons that forced Russia to launch the special military operations.
