Vientiane (FN), Feb. 14 – President of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) Tycoon Kith Meng and the CCC delegation hold a Laos-Cambodia Business Meeting with the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday (Feb. 14) in Vientiane, Laos.

The meeting focused on boosting economic ties between the two countries and exchanged views on opportunities, investment climate and potential sectors.

On this occasion, tycoon Kith Meng raised the new investment law of Cambodia, which provides better conditions and favorable investment climate for foreign investors.

"The two leaders agreed to expedite the negotiation of an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation to further boost bilateral trade and economic activity between the two countries," he said.

Kith Meng continued, "Samdech premier Hun Sen encouraged both sides to increase the organization of business partnerships, exhibitions and seminars to provide more opportunities for trade and investment between the two countries.”

The two sides also discussed trade and investment ties between the two countries' companies, highlighting each other's potential and further cooperation.

President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) Oudet Souvannavong thanked Kith Meng and the delegation for taking time to demonstrate their potential and increase investment cooperation between Cambodia and Laos in line with their top leaders’ efforts in pushing for increased trade for the benefit of both countries and their peoples.

Souvannavong also encouraged Cambodian investors to invest in Laos. At the same time, the Lao side also raised the issue of high airfare, which has been affected the flow of tourists.

In this regard, the Lao side asked Cambodia-Laos Airlines to consider lower the fare in order to promote tourism.

After the fruitful discussions, the two sides also agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding to boost business, especially the exchange of latest information and policies.

It should be noted that tycoon Kith Meng led a delegation of the CCC to accompany Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen on his official visit to Lao PDR from 13-14 February 2023.
