Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 11 – Lay Samnang, a deputy director of the department of finance and supply of Cambodia's Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation (MoSVY) was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) for embezzling over USD 380,000 from the national budget.

Head of ACU Om Yentieng told Fresh News earlier on Wednesday that Lay Samnang was sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court (PPMC) this morning (Jan 11) as he is suspected of embezzlement, which includes the state budget allocated for nearly 4,000 people with disabilities.

"Lay Samnang is also suspected of money laundering," head of ACU added.
