Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 6 – Pakistani foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari requested Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen to consider opening Cambodian Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Pakistani foreign minister paid a courtesy call on the premier on Saturday (Aug 6) at the Peace Palace.

On this occasion, Zardari applauded Cambodia for successfully hosting the 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (55th AMM) and related meetings. He also invited the premier to pay an official visit to Pakistan and requested to consider opening the Cambodian Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Zardari pledged to foster Cambodia-Pakistan cooperation. He also informed the premier that he will discuss with Cambodian foreign minister Prak Sokhonn to seek cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade, investment and tourism.

In response, Samdech thanked Zardari for attending the 55th AMM and related meetings in Phnom Penh. Samdech said that the meeting happened in line with the global controversy, such as the Myanmar's crisis, the South China Sea dispute, the Russia-Ukraine war, and so on.

Lastly, Samdech accepted an invitation to pay an official visit to Pakistan and also gave a positive response at the request to consider opening a Cambodian Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan. Regarding Cambodia-Pakistan cooperation, Samdech asked Zardari to encourage more Pakistani investors to invest in the kingdom.
