Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 5 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen reaffirmed that he asked the European Union and United States in the right moment to review sanctions against Russia, speaking while receiving an honorary doctorate degree from RUPP on Friday morning (Aug 5).

“As a small state, I have equal rights to speak out my ideas. With a chance to speak, I exercised my right by [asking the EU and US to review sanctions against Russia,” the premier underlined.

On 4 August 2022, during the separate courtesy, the premier asked the EU for foreign affairs and security policy and vice-president of the European Commission Josep Borrell Fontelles, and the US secretary of state Antony Blinken to review sanctions imposed on Russia as it will not only affect Russia’s economy, but the global economy including Cambodia.
